A girl I met at a summer program in high school sent me annual Christmas letters. She found me after college and followed me through graduate school and moving half-way across the country- for over 15 years. It took several years before I finally figured out who she was- she had gotten married and had changed her last name.

I would guess that this happens more often now, in the age of facebook and friending everyone who has at least one friend in common.

It does sound like you lead an exciting interesting life ;-)
