Hi Patricia,
Loved, loved, loved The Last Vampire! Angelique sounds incredibly interesting. This topic made me pinpoint the book that changed my life and sparked my interest in fiction. That book happens to be Judy Blume's Forever. :)
Great blog!

First it was Angelique, then Catherine and then Marrianne. how I loved those books. I still have them all after forty years of moving from England to Canada, back to England, on to France and Mexico and back again to where I started in a small seaside town on the southeast coast of England. Now my roving days are over but the tattered paperbacks are still on my bookshelves, encourageing me to dig out my ouvre, Meg, and do something with her. Maybe it isn't too late; if enough people still love the genre.

Jamie --

I don't remember Zemindar. I did read all the Angelique books. I think. The reason I liked them so much is that it was the first time I read a woman hero.

Teagan --

That you didn't let anyone talk you out of the dream means you're doing what you're supposed to be doing.

Alverne --

It was a pleasure having you as a student and I'm equally proud that you continue to work at your dream.

Estella --

Thanks and keep reading!

And Jen --

Okay, I'll keep the cure to myself if I ever find it.

Pat, you so crazy. As long as I've known you, you've had half a dozen irons in the fire. Now I know why.

If you ever discover a cure for this addiction, don't tell me!

Patricia,

Reading about the ups and downs that you've overcome in the publishing world inspires me in so many ways. To know that you're still writing and that you're encouraging a younger generation to write makes me proud to know you.

Thank you for all your guidence and for sharing your story

Thank you. Over the twelve years that it took me to sell a story I was often asked why I didn't give up. I couldn't. Like you, I have too many stories to tell. And the writing kept me sane through some of the absolute darkest times of my life. You are an inspiration. I'm going to go write right now.

Angelique! That started me off as well! Loved that series. Only learned years later that it was written by a French husband and wife team.

How about Zemindar? Valerie Fitzgerald? Great historical also.

Regards,
