Marcus, wonderful article. I was like you very reluctant to do the facebook and twitter thing. I had a myspace page from the onset but only posted blurbs and reviews about my books. I finally about a month ago signed up for facebook and twitter. I still only post once or twice a week and usually on the weekend when I have time. My biggest problem at the moment is time. I can't imagine posting what I'm doing every minute of the day when most times I barely have enough time to take a breath in between..LOL I applaud those who do it though. I understand your comments about using it to your advantage and getting on everyone else's network and I will devote some thinking to it about a contest and such. That's a wonderful idea and I appreciate you sharing.

Best of luck to you in your career.

Hi Marcus,
You've got some great ideas. I'll have to try a variation with my new book, Killer Career. So far, I've mostly been tweeting about my blogs each day.

Good luck with your new release. Sounds like you're really going places since the first time we were on the panel at the Schaumburg Library.

Great post, Marcus!

Lynn, the @ is basically a reply that everyone can see. The idea is if people see the @MarcusSakey, they'll click on it and it'll lead to his profile.

The # is a hashtag. It's similar to tags on Amazon or on blogs. It has a similar purpose: people will click on the hashtag and see all the replies with the sam tag.

Hope that helps!
