Texting is useful for sharing pix (which I love) and brief spurts of information, but it does not substitute for true communication. However, I have a hard time convincing my son of that. He won’t even EMAIL me back! LOL! And the voice message on his phone says, “Do NOT leave a message.” However, as a parent, I have firmly–sometimes VERY firmly–instructed my children not to text at the dinner table, so I can only hope they will never behave like the young man on his date.
