And it's worth noting that according to a national poll a few years ago, there are more people in American who want to WRITE a book than there are people who READ books. If you're not a reader, I think you can probably nonetheless write a (totally unreadable) book and self-publish it. But if you're not a reader, there's no way you can write a commercially saleable book. That's like expecting to play major league baseball without knowing anything at all about the sport.
