Dianne, you said it so well. How can anyone live without books? My bookcases are about to collapse from the extra number of books I loaded on each shelf. And yet like you I have a husband who never reads. He lives with numbers, so I considered myself very honored when he read my books and didn’t doze in the middle! I used to read two books per day when I was in college. Now I keep my reading for vacation and take several printed books in addition to my Sony eReader.

I’m always reading a book or three, or five.
The speed at which I get through them does vary according to the amount of time I have available. I’m lucky though, I work in a library, so I’m surrounded all day by them and the people who love to read them.

I couldn’t agree with you more on the necessity of books!

I am pretty strict with my budgeting, unless it relates to books. I’m surrounded by them in my home. My bookshelves are crammed. The world would be a better, place, I do believe, if more people spent more time reading!

Every year, I give my children books. It’s a tradition. They know it’s one of the most valuable gifts they will get, regardless of the price spent on other gifts.
