There are always some cancellations leading up to a conference, and we may be able to extend a registration to you, and help you secure a room at the conference rate.
The conference runs late afternoon Wednesday, October 22 until noon, Sunday, October 26.
We kick off on Wednesday with an early-evening outdoor Reception. Registration will be open.
Industry Guests are any and all professionals who in some way are involved with the publishing industry.
Author Assistants are not industry guests, as they are not working in the industry, limited to assisting a Ninc member, whether just learning the ropes of the job or well into assisting “their” author.
Night Owl Sessions, held after hours Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, are open only to members of Ninc.
The first of four scheduled industry panels begins promptly at nine Thursday morning. Unless you’re within easy driving distance, you will want to be checked-in to the hotel on Wednesday. Non-hotel guest parking fee, per day, $20.
First Word is open to all Ninc members, their spouse/companions, all industry guests, author assistants, one-day registrants, and the media.*
Lunch and dinner are provided at no charge for all but spouses/companions; but one or both meals may be purchased separately up to two weeks prior to the event, at cost.

A varied program lineup consisting of three workshops per hour, beginning at 8:30 a.m., ending daily at 5:00 p.m., runs from Thursday morning until the conclusion of the conference at noon Sunday.
Saturday evening, Ninc is hosting a sunset Twenty-fifth Anniversary Buffet overlooking the Gulf. Spouse/companions may purchase banquet tickets up to two weeks prior to the event, at cost.

Who Does Not Need to Register?
Spouses/companions are invited to attend First Word at no charge (meals not included). They may also attend the special conference workshop on literary trusts/estates at no charge.
If your spouse/companion is coming to Florida with you, even if not currently planning to attend any functions, please contact Registrar Kay Hooper at firstname.lastname@example.org, so that a badge can be ready for him/her at Registration. Please include the person’s name and the name that will appear on your own. We want everyone to feel included in the Ninc family.
Any of the group meals Wednesday evening Reception, Thursday lunch and/or dinner, Saturday night banquet may be purchased separately up to two weeks prior to the event, at cost.
Registration Upon Arrival at Hotel
All attendees (Members, First Word attendees, Industry Guests, Author Support, Spouses/Companions, Media) are asked to come to the Ninc Registration Desk beginning at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, continuing Thursday-Saturday, to pick up badges, packets and any other conference information.
Other Important Information
Last day to register for the conference (no walk-ins, no exceptions): September 30, 2014.
Hotel reservation cut-off date for the conference rate is September 22, 2014.
Refund Policy: Until midnight of August 31, 2014, 80% of amount paid returned. On or after September 1, 2014, no refunds unless cancellation is for medical reasons. Please do not abuse this provision. Thank you!
