Welcome to the website of Novelists, Inc., affectionately known as Ninc! This
is the only organization focused entirely on career novelists in popular fiction.
If you're published in book-length mystery, romance, fantasy, mainstream fiction,
Westerns, science fiction, horror, historical fiction, erotica, paranormal,
and/or suspense, this is the organization where you can network with other
professional novelists building and maintaining long-term writing careers.
In Novelists, Inc., authors who write across all genres, and who are at various
points in their writing careers, contribute to and benefit from our organization.
Novelists, Inc., provides platforms for our worldwide membership to communicate
with each other through:
- A members-only e-mail loop that has yet to be stumped by any research
or publishing industry question posed to it
- Our monthly newsletter with articles and columns on the business and the
life of the professional popular fiction novelist
- This website, which includes an ever-growing library of information in
the Members Only section, from directories of editors and agents, to research
links and search functions to find fellow members writing for particular
publishing houses
Ninc members also enjoy other benefits that we are always looking to expand.
They currently include:
- An annual conference that's unlike any other you've ever been to. Attended
by experienced multi-published novelists, industry professionals, and guest
speakers, it's a gathering of professional colleagues sharing frank views,
current information, and fascinating discussions about our industry and our
craft.
- Ongoing advocacy efforts, including new committees forming to develop
a Model Royalty Statement and to address the rapidly-evolving issues of Digital
Rights Management
- The Ninc Legal Fund, launched in 2007, offers our members complimentary
access to legal consultation on problems that may arise in their writing careers.
So many times an author hit with a legal situation has no idea where to begin;
Ninc gives its members a place to start.
- A steadily expanding Discounts Program in which we negotiate with vendors
to offer discounts to Ninc members.
- The new collaborative relationship between Ninc and Tekno Books to develop,
market, and write fiction and nonfiction books. These publishing opportunities
are unique and available only to our members.
